The threesome had just gotten backstage. After getting directions from a security guard they found their way to the dressing room where they guys were suppose to be. Alec knocked on the door. A rather large black man answered.
Alec - "Hi. We're here to see Brian Littrell." Brian must have heard cause he threw the door open.
Brian - "hey man it's about time you got here." He hugs Alec. "Who's this? I thought you were bringing Ally?"
Ally - "Brian it's me." He looks closer.
Brian - "No it's not. Oh my God! Ally you grew up!"
Ally - "Well I couldn't stay 16 forever."
Brian - "I know but look at you. No braces, you're hair's not up in a ponytail. You look really good." The way he looks at her makes Ally blush a little bit. "Come here girl give me a hug." She steps in to his open arms and he hugs her tight. "At least you stayed shorter then me."
Ally - "Well Alec hogged all the tallness genes in our family."
Alec - "It's not my fault I was born first."
Brian stops hugging her even though she didn't want him to ever stop. "Come on in I'll introduce you to the guys." He takes her by the hand and Alec and Mandy follow. "Hey guys they finally got here. Now this is my old friend Alec his little sister Ally and, I'm sorry I didn't get your name."
Ally - "Oh this is my roommate Amanda."
Mandy - "Please call me Mandy."
Brian - "And Mandy. This is Nick Howie AJ and my cousin Kevin."
Kevin - "I think I met you before or at least I remember seeing you at one of Brian's baseball games."
Ally - "Probably they played on the same team and I was always there to route Alec on."
Brian - "Yeah I remember you being louder then the couch."
Mandy - "I can believe that."
Howie - "Well come on in and sit down make your selves at home. We've got some sodas can I get you guys one."
Alec - "Yeah please."
Mandy - "Me too. Ally?"
Ally - "Oh yeah that would be great."
Brian - "So come on tell me that have you been up to? I've already caught up with Alec out in LA so now I want to know ever thing about you."
Ally - "What do you want to know?"
Brian - "Well we'll start with school what are you taking?"
Ally - "Well, I'm taking theater and dance over at IUP."
Brian - "What made you decide to come up north to go to school?"
Ally - "I don't know I just really liked what they had to offer and I felt like I had to get out of Lexington."
Brian - "Hey don't bust on the home turf."
Ally - "I'm not. Well not really but I just felt like I had to get out. Try something different. Besides if I wouldn't have gone then I would have never met my partner in crime here." She bumps shoulders with Mandy.
Mandy - "Shh. I don't want them to know I have a record."
Nick - "You sing."
Mandy - "What?"
Nick - "You sing, like on a record."
AJ - "She didn't mean that kind of record stupid."
Nick - "Oh." He looks confused.
AJ - "Like a police record."
Nick - "Oh now I get it."
AJ - "It takes him a while. So you go to the same school as Ally."
Mandy - "Yeah we have a lot of the same classes together so we decided to room together."
AJ - "So you're doing the whole dance thing too." She nods.
Brian - "I remember Alec bitching about having to go to your recitals. I can't believe that you're still doing that."
Ally - "Well it's something I enjoy. After you left school I actually got up enough nerve and did a couple of our musicals."
Brian - "Really how come you never came and tried out with me."
Ally - "I don't know."
Kevin - "Hey guys we should probably start heading up to the stage."
Brian - "Alright you guys aren't going anywhere after the show are you? I mean do you have to hurry back to campus because you have class in the morning or something."
Ally - "Well it's really up to Alec. I mean he's our ride."
Alec - "I'm actually flying back to LA in the morning so you two are just going to take the car when ever you wanted to head back."
Mandy - "Then I guess we're staying."
AJ - "Cool. You guys can hang out here or next to the stage where you can see the show."
So Alec, Ally and Mandy all follow the guys up the tunnel until they get to the stage.
Brian - "Stand right there. You'll be able to see everything."
Alec - "Cool man thinks." They move off to the one side where they will still be able to see everything but be out of the way. "You know if anyone I know knew I came here willingly I'd be laughed at."
Ally - "Oh come on. You guys used to be like best friends."
Alec - "I know."
Ally - "You should be proud of him."
Alec - "I am. Wait a minute, you still like him."
Ally - "I don't know what you're talking about."
Alec - "Ally come on. I remember you used to have a crush on him in school but I thought you got over that. But you didn't, you still have a thing for him."
She tries to play it cool. "So what if I do."
Alec starts laughing. "Oh this is too good, wait till I tell Bri."
Ally - "You can't tell him. Oh God Alec please don't say anything."
Alec - "Well now this brings back memories. What are you going to give if I don't say anything?"
Ally - "Anything."
Mandy - "This makes me so glad I'm an only child."
Alec - "Well let me think about it. The show's starting."
The subject's dropped for the time being and they watch the concert. Backstreet puts on a great show like usual. Ally and Mandy know the songs of course because they are fans. When they take the break and start the solos AJ takes a minute to come over and talk to Mandy.
AJ - "Hey."
Mandy - "Hey."
AJ - "So how old are you?"
Mandy - "20. My birthday's in December I'll be 21." God that sounded stupid she thought.
AJ - "Really. I'll be 21 in January, maybe we should get together after the fact and celebrate being legal together."
Mandy - "Yeah we could do that."
AJ - "Well I got to go. You know there's this whole concert thing I'm in the middle of. I'll talk to you later."
Mandy - "Well I'll be here." He runs out to make his entrance. She turns to Ally. "Ally I think AJ just asked me out."
Ally - "No shit!"
Mandy - "No shit. He came up and we talk I told him I was turning 21in December and he said he was Turing 21 in January and then he said that we should get together to celebrate being legal together."
Ally - "It's the beginning of November." Brian comes up behind Mandy but neither sees him talking to Alec.
Mandy - "Like I care what month it is. He still expressed interesting in going out with me." Ally sees Brian.
Ally - "Um Mandy"
Mandy - "No don't Mandy me right now. I just want to savor this for a minute."
Ally - "But.." Brian is right behind her.
Mandy - "I mean it's not everyday that some one like AJ asks me out and even if it doesn't happen just let me think that's it's going to for a little while longer."
Brian - "Contrary to popular belief AJ doesn't ask out every pretty girl he sees." Mandy's eyes get big, she turns really fast.
Mandy - "excuse me."
Brian - "I couldn't help but over hear."
Mandy - "Oh. Um. I." Alec is trying really hard not to laugh.
Brian - "When he asks for you phone number, give him the wrong one at first. It'll make him nuts."
Mandy - "yeah but then how's he going to get a hold of me."
Brian - "Well you're Mandy's roommate right. I'll have hers."
Mandy - "You will."
Brian - "Well yeah I can't lose touch with you again." He playfully taps her shoulder. "I got to run I'm on soon. See you guys after the show." He runs off.
Ally looks at Alec, who just shrugs his shoulders then goes back to watching the show.
Mandy - "Did he just ask for your phone number?"
Ally - "I think so. In that round about way that he has."
Mandy - "so what's the deal with you two?"
Ally - "Well him and Alec have been friends like since they were in little league together. He would come over and stay the night and stuff with Alec and they would torment me all night. I mean one time they tied me to my bed with my hair."
Mandy - "ouch."
Ally - "Yeah but, I'm not sure when it happened but I started to get a little crush on Brian. He was my first kiss."
Mandy - "Oh really."
Ally - "Yeah I was thirteen and there was mistletoe. Alec made him kiss me it was completely humiliating but exciting at the same time."
Mandy - "Well I guess if older brothers make their friends kiss you they can't be all that bad. So do you think he knows you used to have a crush on him?"
Ally - "Yeah. He would have had to be blind to not know." She watches him walk out on stage with his guitar. He looks over and gives a little wave.
Mandy - "Oh girl you are really hooked aren't you?"
Ally - "I'm afraid so."
