Mandy had just gotten out of the shower and was getting dressed when someone knocked on the door.
Mandy - "Just a minute." She runs in to the bathroom.
Ally - "I'll get it." She opens the door and there stands Brian with a couple cups of coffee. "Good Morning."
Brian - "Morning. Thought you girls might like some coffee."
Ally - "Thanks."
Brian - "Are we drinking it in the hall?"
Ally - "No. I'm sorry come on in." She steps out of the way and lets him in. "I didn't expect you awake so early."
Brian - "Well I'm not really. I'm surviving on coffee at this point."
Ally - "I do that too. My eight o'clock European History class comes too early some mornings." She takes the cup of coffee.
Brian - "Sugar?"
Ally - "No just crme."
Brian - "I've got a whole bunch of different kinds." He pulls out like ten different little creamers out of the pocket of his hoodie.
Ally - "Um I'll take vanilla." She picks it out of his hand. He puts the rest on the table and then sits in the chair opposite her. He just sits there and drinks his coffee. Why doesn't he say something Ally thinks to herself. Well I guess I could say something too. But what I don't want to look or sound like an idiot. It would be easier if he wasn't so damn cute sitting there with his hair all messed up. She smiles to herself as she drinks her coffee.
Brian - "I'd love to know what is going on in that head of yours."
Ally - "Oh no." Mandy comes out of the bathroom.
Mandy - "Good morning. Oh do I smell coffee?"
Brian - "Yeah I thought you could use some this morning."
Mandy - "You are such a life saver."
Brian - "that's me a regular knight in shining armor." Mandy sorts through the creamers and picks an amaretto one. "So did you girls sleep well?"
Ally - "Yeah for the whole hour and a half she let me sleep. She was tossing and turning all night."
Mandy - "No I wasn't."
Ally - "Did you sleep at all?"
Mandy - "Yeah a little bit. But I can always sleep when we get back to the dorm."
Brian - "Speaking of which we should probably head down as soon as AJ gets here for his suit case. He is always running late."
Ally - "Sounds like someone else I know."
Mandy - "What is it pick on Mandy day?"
Ally - "No but I can call the Governor and ask him to announce it."
Mandy - "Ha Ha." AJ knocks on the door. Neither Brian nor Ally move. "Oh please don't get up I'll get it." She opens the door. "Good Morning."
AJ - "Good morning. How are you feeling?" He walks in.
Mandy - "Fine. I took a shower that always helps. I just wish I had clean clothes to put on. I feel all gross."
AJ - "Well I think you look fine."
Mandy - "Thank you."
AJ - "So are you ready we should probably get going."
Brian - "Yeah. Let me just zip up my bag."
So the guys grab their suitcases and the girls follow them down the hall to the elevator where everyone else is waiting.
Rich - "here I'll take your bags and put them with the others."
Brian - "Thanks Rich. Um you girls should probably go with him too."
AJ - "Yeah we'll meet you downstairs."
Mandy - "Okay."
They follow Rich down to the bus.
Rich - "Okay if you ladies will just wait in the bus the guys should only be a few more minutes."
Ally - "Thanks Rich."
Rich - "No problem ladies." He leaves to put the bags under the bus. Mandy and Ally have a seat on the little couch they were sitting on last night.
Mandy - "I don't want to go back to school."
Ally - "Me either. But can you imagine the look on everyone including Miss Mary Katherine's face when we roll up and get out of this thing."
Mandy - "True. She's going to have a regular shit fit about this."
Ally - "Oh here come the guys." Backstreet approaches the bus more slowly signing autographs on their way. "Look how sweet they are. They are trying to take time with everyone."
Mandy - "Are you going to talk to Brian?"
Ally - "About what?"
Mandy - "About maybe the two of you dating or something?"
Ally - "Are you nuts? No!"
Mandy - "Why not?"
Ally - "I don't know. I'm just glad that his my friend again I don't really want to push the point."
Mandy - "Maybe he feels the same way but doesn't want to say anything."
Ally - "I highly doubt that."
Mandy - "You'll never know unless you ask."
The guys get on the bus.
Nick - "I call the TV." Howie groans.
Howie - "Come on Nick I can only take so much video games." He winks at them.
Kevin - "Yeah how about a movie or something." He nods at the girls as he passes. "Morning ladies."
Girls - "Morning Kevin."
AJ - "Just keep going I don't need you trying to flirt with my ladies."
Mandy - "Your ladies."
AJ - "Yeah." He sits between the two of them. "You got a problem being one of my ladies."
Mandy crosses her arms over her chest. "That depends. How many do your ladies include?"
AJ - "Well right now just the two of you. And my mom but she doesn't really count."
Brian - "And you can take Ally out of your little harem too."
AJ - "And why is that?"
Ally - "Yeah maybe I want to be in AJ's harem. It sounds fun, are we going to get those puffy pants and veils and everything."
Brian - "No you're not getting puffy pants. You've been my friend longer if anyone has claim to you it's me."
Ally - "Oh really."
Brian - "Yeah." Looking in to his eyes she sees something she never did before. There was tenderness there in his warm blue eyes. "I think we need to have a talk."
Ally - "Now?"
Brian - "Not now. But soon."
Ally - "Okay." That's when she notices Mandy and AJ hanging on every word that was being said. "What?"
Mandy - "Nothing." AJ still has his arm around the back of the couch behind her. "So how long is it going to take us to get to school?"
AJ - "You in that much of a hurry to get rid of us?"
Mandy - "No. Not at all."
Brian - "Well we're going to switch vehicles at the truck stop."
Ally - "Switch to what."
Brian - "Well it would be more practical to take the van down to your school and then just meet back up with the bus on the road."
Ally - "Oh."
AJ - "So we should have you back by lunch."
Brian - "Is that soon enough?"
Mandy - "It's too soon." She looks at AJ.
AJ - "You hungry? I'm starved. Howie is there any pop tarts left!" So AJ goes on a pop tart hunt.
Brian - "Excuse me. Be right back." He follows AJ. "Man what the hell is wrong with you?"
AJ - "Nothing." Brian gives him a look. "Okay it's Mandy. Every time I look at her I want to kiss her."
Brian - "And that's a bad thing."
AJ - "We've had this talk. Especially me and you. The life that we have chosen to lead does not allow us to get involved with girls. And then I meet Amanda and she's wonderful. I mean she's so beautiful and funny and then I kissed her."
Brian - "Whoa dude back up. You kissed her! When?"
AJ - "Last night. When I went back to the room to get my clothes. Ally was in the shower and I just couldn't help myself."
Brian - "You really like her."
AJ - "Yeah. Don't give me that look. What was with that scene out there between you and Ally?"
Brian - "Oh no you're not changing the subject."
AJ - "No I think this is the subject."
Brian - "Ally and I have history together."
AJ - "What kind of history?"
Brian - "Dude it's like this. She was my best friend's little sister and then one day when I wasn't paying attention she grew up. The day I left for Florida her and Alec were there to say good-bye. It was harder for me to say good bye to her then it was to my girlfriend. She look up at my with those big eyes of hers full of tears and it broke my heart."
AJ - "So you love her."
Brian - "Yeah I think I do." They both sit at the kitchen table. Howie comes in.
Howie - "Why do you two look so miserable?"
Brian - "Girls."
Howie - "Oh. What's up?"
AJ - "We're starting to have problems with that whole no commitment thing that we have been living by."
Howie - "Who has it exactly that said that we couldn't have girlfriends?"
Brian and AJ - "Lou."
Howie - "And where's Lou now?"
AJ - "Good point."
Howie - "They seem like really great girls. I don't think you two should let them get away."
AJ - "We should probably get back out there before they get suspicious."
Brian - "Yeah cause your mad dash back here for pop tarts wasn't odd at all."
AJ flips him off as they go back to the front of the bus. "No pop tarts. We'll just stop on the way."
Ally - "Okay."
Mandy - "You alright?"
AJ - "Yeah I'm fine." He sits next to Mandy again and Brian sits in a chair opposite them all.
Brian - "There might be a little restaurant or something at the truck stop we could eat there."
Ally - "No that's okay. Fast food's fine. I feel kind of skuzzy in these clothes I would rather not go in anywhere."
Brian - "You look fine."
Ally - "Yeah but I've been wearing these since yesterday."
Brian - "Alright. Burger King it is."
