It was two weeks before the wedding.  Suzanna was at the church going over some last minute details with the priest.

Father Ramone - "Now Suzanna I have every respect for your father and your family but I will not have weapons brought in to a house of God."

Suz - "I understand Father and will honor your request."  Even as she spoke Sphinx was waiting outside.  He had refused to lock his gun in the trunk so she had made him wait outside.  "Things have been relatively quiet so were not expecting any trouble."

Ramone - "And your sister how is she doing?"

Suz - "Abby is fine.  She has been very busy with work and planning my bridal shower.  Hopefully she doesn't go too crazy."

Ramone - "Well, remind her that yes she is young but she still should be coming to church on a regular basis and not to just confessional once a week."

Suz - "I will.  Thank you for taking time with me today Father."  She reaches out her hand to shake his.

Ramone - "I will always have time for you worries my child."  He takes her hand and brings it to his lips for a kiss.

Suz - "I will see you next week for the rehearsel then."

Ramone - "Until then go in peace."

Suzanna exits the church and steps out in to the warm sunshine.  Sphinx looks at her and then nods back towards the church.  "Oh everythings fine."  They walk to the car.  "I suppose you are going to stay outside during the whole service."  He pats his side where he wears his gun.  "No he is very strict about having guns inside the church."

They get to the car and he opens the back door for her.  "You know papa and Kevin will have the place crawling with security there is no reason why you can't leave your gun and come inside."

He sighs and raises one eyebrow at her as he begins to sign.  "You are my responsibility until you marry Kevin.  And you know I trust no one with your safety.  Especially considering what happened the last time I let you talk me into taking time off."

Suzanna gets quiet like she always does when her kidnapping in mentioned.  She really doesn't remember that much of it.  Her mind decided to protect her soul but letting her forget.  "You know no one blames you for any of that.  Your mother was dying you had to go to her."

He signs, "I blame me."

Suz - "Well then I'm firing you right before the service so you'll have no excuse to miss it."

He sighs again.  "You are impossible.  If it is that important I will be inside, but in the back."

Suzanna realizes this is as close as she'll get to what she wants smiles brightly at him.  "Thank you."  He gestures to the car.  "Yes we can go now."

Kevin was sitting at the table waiting for her.  He stood as he saw her cross the crowded restaurant.  He loved watching her, everything about her was beautiful to him.  She kissed his cheek lightly before sitting down beside him.

Suz - "Sorry I'm late."

Kevin - "That's alright.  Is everything okay?"

Suz - "Yeah I just had to finalize the deliveries with the church."

Kevin - "You know I could have hired someone to take care of all these little things for you."

Suz - "I know but I like doing them.  Have you ordered?"

Kevin - "Just the salad."  They are interrupted the waiter.

Waiter - "Ms. Mazzagotti you have a phone call."  He hands her the phone.

Suz - "Thank you.  Hello?"

JC - "Suzanna you need to come home right away."

Suz - "What's wrong?"

JC - "It will be explained when you get here.  Talk to no one just come home."

Suz - "Can I finish dinner with my fiancé."

JC - "No.  Vito will understand later you must come home now."

Suz - "Okay."  She sets the phone on the table.  "I'm sorry.  I have to go."

Kevin - "What's wrong?"

Suz - "I don't know but JC said to come home and speak to no one."

Kevin - "It must be serious.  Come on I'll escort you to your car."

Suz - "I'm sorry."

Kevin - "It's alright."

As they are walking across the lobby towards the doors.  A camera crew meets them.

Reporter - "Ms. Mazzagotti!  Can we have a comment?  Did you know the man that was found at your father's construction site?"

Suzanna says nothing just ducks her head under Kevins arm as he shields her from the camera.  Sphinx is waiting with the car he opens the door and the two of them duck inside.  He turns glaring at the camera man who backs up. 

Suz - "They found a body at one of my dad's sites?"

Kevin - "This is the first I heard of it."  Sphinx gets in and looks at Kevin.  "Just circle the building and drop me in back so I don't have to deal with them."  He nods.  "I'm going to go home and see what's up?"

Suz - "Call me later."

Kevin - "okay.  I love you."

Suz - "Love you too."  He kisses her sweetly and then gets out.  "Let's go home."

The Mazzagotti household has in an organized form of chaos.  There were guards concealed on the roof to let everyone know when the news helicopters where flying over head.  Then there were others paroling the perimeter making sure no one got brave enough to try to get an inside scoop.

When Suzanna got home she was told to wait on the sun porch with Abby.  Joey was in there with her.  He left as soon as Suzanna got to the room.

Suz - "Okay what's going on?"  She knew her sister would know.  Abby had learned at an early age how to make people forget she was in a room until it was too late.

Abby whispers, "Bobby Parino has been killed."

Suz - "Who?"

Abby - "One of the foremen on papa's sites.  Papa fired him a couple months ago.  Apparently he was hiring illegals and then only paying them half wages."

Suz - "And papa found out and fired him."

Abby - "Yeah.  But a week ago he came storming on to the site and said that if papa didn't hire him back that he would go to the cops and expose him.  And then that was the last anyone saw him until they found his body this morning."

Suz - "And the cops think papa killed him."  Abby nods.  "I take it were not suppose to know any of this."

Abby - "Probably not."

Suzanna sits back and puts her hand to her head.  "Not to be selfish but why does this have to happen now.  I'm getting married in like two weeks."

Abby - "I don't know what to tell you."

Justino comes in and sits with his sisters.  "Papa wants me to speak with the two of you."

Suz - "Is he okay?"

Justino - "As well as can be.  He hasn't been arrested or anything yet but its only a matter of time.  He has however been asked to come in for questioning along with myself."

Abby - "Why you?"

Justino - "Because before he disappeared Bobby and I got in to a bit of an argument."

Suz - "about what?"

Justino - "A girl at the club.  He has being a bit rough with her and I step in.  Of course that won't make a difference."  He looks at his sisters.  "Come on we're not going to jail.  Dad and I will be home in time for dinner."

Abby - "Don't try to make us feel better Tino.  We know how serious this is."

Justino - "I know.  But we need to go, come say goodbye to dad."

The girls follow him into the hall where Donatella is hugging Giovanni.

Gio - "Don't cry darling.  I'll be home tonight."  Abby rolls her eyes at her step mothers overdone display of emotion.  "Girls."  He motions them closer to him.  He hugs his daughters.  "I'll see you either tonight or in the morning.  But don't wait up for us."

Abby - "I won't papa."

Gio - "Good night."  He kisses their cheeks and leaves with Justino and JC.

Donatella goes up to her room leaving Suzanna and Abby in the foyer. 

Suz - "Well now what."

Abby - "Looks like its going to be just us for dinner.  I highly doubt Donatella will be coming down."

Suz - "Chinese?"

Abby - "Sounds good to me."

They go into the kitchen to order take out.
