The day doesn't pass quick enough for Jess. She made Brad crazy all day long. There were no guests that day so she had a
very tame day and was pretty much useless. All she had to do was get things set up for next week's guests. She was more
excited then she thought to see Lance again. Thankfully he showed up early. Lance - "Knock knock."
Jess - "hey." Lance - "Your assistant told me to just come right in." Jess - "Oh
that's fine. Have a seat and just let me finish this memo and then I'll be ready to go." Uncle Chris chooses
that moment to show up. Chris - "Hey Jessica. I was wondering if you would have time to go over this with me.
Something just doesn't sound right." He didn't even notice Lance sitting there. Jess - "I was just getting
ready to leave can it wait." Chris - "I guess. Where are you off to?" She looks past him at Lance.
"Oh sorry didn't see you there." He extends his hand. "How are you doing, Lance isn't it." Lance
- "Yeah. I'm good." Chris - "So what are you two up too?" Lance - "We were just
going to go get something to eat maybe catch a movie." Chris looks at Jess. "And how long has this been
going on?" Jess - "Not that it's any of your business Uncle Chris. But it's only our second date."
Chris - "Does your dad know?" Jess - "No. I'm almost 24 years old I don't need to clear
my boyfriends with my father. And I don't need you telling him anything so keep your mouth shut." Chris - "Alright.
I'm sorry. I'll stay out of your business." Jess - "Thank you very much." Chris - "I
guess this can wait until tomorrow." Jess - "yes it can." She crosses her arms. Chris -
"I'll be going." He walks down the hall. She thinks a minute and then hollers after him Jess - "That
means don't tell my mom either." Chris - "What, sorry didn't hear you?" He gets in the elevator.
Jess - "Great." She leans against the door. Lance - "I didn't know he was your uncle."
Jess - "Yeah unfortunately he's my mother's brother. You ready to get out of here." Lance - "If
you are." Jess - "Yeah." Lance - "I've got a car downstairs." They go
down and get in a (what ever the BMW SUV is called). There is a bodyguard and a driver in the front. Lance - "So
can I ask what all of that was about?" Jess - "What?" Lance - "That thing with your
uncle?" Jess - "Oh it's a looong story. Simply put my dad doesn't like me dating, pretty much anyone,
but especially musicians. So where are we going?" Lance - "I was thinking we could get something to eat
and then see a movie. Or is that too boring?" Jess - "Actually that sounds perfect. It'll have to some
place casual I'm not really dressed for anywhere fancy." Lance - "that's okay. Hey Hal take to the Italian
place you were telling me about." He nods and they head in to Queens. Dinner was nice. They talked a lot and
Jess got to know him better. He is the most mature 19-year-old Jess ever met. She found herself really liking him. He was
easy to talk to. After they got done eating he let her pick the movie. They went and saw, There's something about Mary.
Jess figured it was safe. They laughed so hard. It was really cute because his hand kept rushing hers, until she finally
held it, he looked over and smiled. Before the movie had started he sent the car and his bodyguard back to the
hotel. So they took a cab from the theater to her apartment. It was still kind of early and it was Friday night so she invited
him up. Lance - "You sure." Jess - "Yeah come on." They go upstairs. She noticed her
answering machine was blinking like crazy so she decided not to check it. "Make yourself comfy." She takes off
her sneakers. He does the same and sits on the couch. Lance - "Mind if I turn on the TV." Jess
- "No, go ahead. I'm just going to get a drink you want something." Lance - "No I'm cool."
His phone rings. "Excuse me. Hello." Joey - "Hey man what's up?" Lance - "Not
much." Joey - "Hey I'm going to this club you want to come." Lance - "I don't think
so man I'm just hanging out with Jessica." Joey - "well bring her too. The more the merrier."
Lance - "What kind of club?" Joey - "The kind you dance at stupid." Lance - "Well
let me ask her. Hey Jess you want to go to a club with Joey?" Jess - "What club?" Joey -
"Roseland." Lance - "Roseland." Jess - "Sure if he thinks he can get us in."
Lance - "yeah we'll meet you at the hotel." He hangs up. "You sure you want to go? Sometimes Joey
gets a little carried away." Jess - "yeah. I'm going to change quick. This is not club appropriate."
She goes in her room and start rummaging around the closet. It's been so long she doesn't have a lot of club clothes.
She did manage to find this low black hip hugging skirt so she put that on. It ends just above her knees, so she pulled out
a pair high black boots that were a gift from Loren. She can't decide between a fuzzy pink navel baring shirt and a green
shiny halter-top. Jess - "Hey Lance. Come here." He comes in. She still has on her shirt from earlier.
Lance - "yeah. Wow. You look great." Jess - "Thanks. Now which one." She holds them
up. Lance - "I like the pink one." She goes to take her shirt off. Jess - "Okay you can go
now." Lance - "Sorry." He leaves and Jess changes her shirt then goes back out. Jess -
"So are we ready?" Lance - "yeah. I'm really going to have to keep an eye on you aren't I."
Jess - "Why do you say that?" Lance - "I want to make sure you leave with me."
Jess - "I have no intentions of ditching you." She walks over to him. "What makes you think I would?"
Lance - "cause I like you too much. And every time I like a girl this much things don't work out."
Jess - "Well I like you too. And as long as we don't put any big expectations on each other we'll be fine. Let's
just keep having fun." Lance - "Okay." Out of nowhere he leaned down and kissed her. It was really
quick. He just smiled. "I had to get that out of the way. I've been thinking about kissing you since I got to your
office" She pulls him to her and kisses him again. His hands touched the bare skin of her back pulling her
closer. She breaks the kiss. "That's better. Now we can enjoy ourselves." Lance - "Okay. You ready."
She nods and gets a leather jacket out of the closet.
