There's something about those boybands.
Chapter Sixty-seven

Later Nick and Summer are in the elevator heading up to his floor.

Nick - "Do you think it was a good idea to leave your sister there when she was obviously getting wasted?"

Summer - "Trust me Lexy has what he has been waiting his whole adolescent life for, her undivided attention.  He's not going to let anything happen to her."

Nick - "Unless he's the one doing it."  She hits him.  "What you have to have noticed how he's been looking at her."

Summer - "Well yeah but Lexy has always looked at Ginger that way."  The door opens and they get out.  "Besides why are we talking about them?"  Nick fumbles for his room key then opens the door.

Nick - "I don't know."  She looks around at the mess his room's in.

Summer - "You know what its a good thing you're cute because you certainly aren't neat."

Nick - "Um could you give me a minute to clean up?"

Summer - "Yeah you know what I'm going to run to my room and get a few things quick I'll be right back."

Nick - "Okay."  He kisses her cheek as she leaves.

Summer goes to her room and grabs a change of clothes for tomorrow and her robe.  Then she goes to the bathroom and brushs her teeth quick and then puts toiletries in her little bag after checking to make sure she took her pill.  No one wants to get pregnant do we.  She debates whether to write Ginger a note but then figures that she can figure out pretty quick where she went without it so doesn't bother.  When she gets back to Nick's room she nervously knocks.

Nick - "Hey come on in."

Summer -"Is this the same room?"

Nick - "Yeah.  I am the master of the quick clean up.  Here let me take your bag."  He takes the bag off her shoulder and sets it beside the dresser.  She sits on the bed.  "So..."

Summer - "So... God I am so nervous."

Nick - "Me too.  Its not like I haven't done this before."

Summer - "I know me too.  But some how this is different."

Nick - "Yeah it is.  Oh!  I got something for you."  He digs in a drawer.  "Here."

Summer - "Nick you didn't have to get me anything."

Nick - "I wanted to.  It's not much."

Summer opens the small box.  Inside is a ring.  Its a simple sliver band with a small stone set in it.  "Oh Nick."

Nick - "Its a promise ring.  It means that now I can officially call you my girl.  At least if that's okay with you."

Summer - "You didn't have to give me a ring for me to be your girlfriend."

Nick - "I wanted to."

Summer - "But this must have cost you so much.  I mean this is an emerald."

Nick - "Just a little one."

Summer - "What am I going to do with you?"

Nick - "I don't know, but I'm dying to find out."  Summer stands up and kisses him.  "So are you going to put it on or stand there looking at it all night?"

Summer - "Here you do it, I'm afraid I'll drop it."

Nick - "Okay."  He takes it off its little cushion and slips it on her finger.  "It seems like its a little big but we can get that fixed tomorrow."

Summer - "Okay."  She wraps her arms around him and hugs him close.  "I love you."

Nick - "You do?"

Summer - "Yeah."

Nick - "Good cause I love you."  He kisses her.  "I'm not so nervous anymore."

Summer - "Me either."

Nick - "Good."  He gently kisses her forehead and then down her face until he gets to her lips where he lingers longer.   He has his arms wrapped around Summer so tight that she doesnt even have to stand on the floor he is holding her up.  He kisses her neck and then whispers in her ear.  "Why don't you get comfortable.  I'm going to turn the lights off."

Summer - "Okay."  Its good that they were standing right next to the bed because otherwise she wouldn't have made it that far.  She takes off her shoes and then her jewelry except for the new ring.  He turns off the lights and then comes up behind her and wraps his arms around her from behind.

Nick - "You are so beautiful."  Summer turns to face him.  He kisses her nose and then sits down on the bed and pulls her next to him.

The next morning there is a knocking at the door.  Summer untangles herself from Nick and and the sheets and goes answers it.

Ginger - "Some how I knew I would find you here."

Summer - "Can the lecture wait I just woke up."

Ginger - "No lecture."

Summer rubs her eyes and then looks at Ginger closer.  "You are my sister right."

Ginger - "Yes I just think you are old enough to make these decisions on your own.  Think you can tear your self away for an hour to have breakfast with me."

Summer - "Yeah just let me tell Nick where I'm going and I'll meet you downstairsfin like 15?"

Ginger - "Okay."

Summer closes the door and goes back over to the bed.  Nick is fast asleep.  He is laying on his stoamch with his face half buried in his pillow.  "Nick?"  He doesn't move.  "Nick honey?"  She sits on the side of the bed and rubs his back.  He moans and snuggles deeper in his pillow.  "Hey baby its morning."  He opens one eye and looks at her.

Nick - "What time is it?"

Summer - "Around ten."

Nick - "Really."  He rolls over and stretches.  "How are you feeling this morning?"

Summer - "Fine.  Did you sleep good?"

Nick - "yes.  Oh fuck did you say ten."  She nods.  "Shit Kevin's going to kill me.  I'm late."  He groans and then gets out of bed.

Summer - "So I'm guessing you won't be joining me for breakfast."

Nick - "I'm sorry I don't have time."

Summer - "That's okay.  It'll give Ginger and I a chance to figure out what we're doing for the rest of our little trip."

Nick - "When are you leaving?"

Summer - "We're suppose to go the end of the week but we were thinking about going back early to give Josh some moral support for when he tells dads and mom."

Nick - "Oh yeah that's not going to go over well."  He had been getting dressed while they talked so now he was sitting putting his shoes on.  "I'll be at the studio all day but give me a call okay.  Or stop by I'll leave you and Ginger's names with security so you can get in."

Summer - "Okay."  He leaves.  "Bye."  She stands up to start getting dressed when he runs back in the room and kisses her.

Nick - "Bye."

Summer - "Bye."  And he's gone again that fast.
