As they ride around the city, the cabbie points out stupid little touristy stuff and they just chat about nonsense stuff.
They had talk about going to see a movie but then veto that idea. Too much of a chance that Nick would be recognized and
he said that he wanted it to be a kind of quiet evening just the two of them. So Summer thought for a while and then suggested
going back to her Uncles' house and just hanging out. Nick was more then willing. She unlocks the door and tripped over
the rug which made her get the giggles. Summer - "Shh. My Uncle Herbie is probably sleeping." Nick
- "You're the one that was laughing." Summer - "Come on I'll take you back to the theater room."
She takes his hand. Nick - "The theater room?" Summer - "yeah they both love movies so much
they had this room designed just for watching movies. It's really cool. I usually fall asleep in there." She
opens the door and turns on the lights. They are on the walls like torches. She hits another switch and the screen comes
down. Uncle Rupie hates how uncomfortable Movie Theater seats are so he doesn't have those. Instead there is like these
round pit couches built in to the floor. It's like some one just dug a hole and threw some cushion in them. But it's very
comfortable. Nick - "This is so cool." Summer - "Isn't it. Come on you can pick the movie."
She opens one cabinet and then tries the other. "Great Uncle Rupie's is locked. I guess we'll have to pick on of Uncle
Herbie's." Nick's kneeling looking at the movies. Nick - "There's not much here. A bunch of musicals
and stuff." Summer kneels next to him and rests her hand on his arm. Summer - "Oh how about 'My Fair Lady.'
At least it's funny." She leans across him and takes out the tape. Nick - "Okay." Nick probably
would have agreed to watch ants building a nest at this point. Summer - "Go get comfy and I'll put it in."
She gets up and walks to the cabinet with all of the video equipment in it. Nick - "Got anything to drink."
Summer - "Um yeah look behind that little bar. There should be a little fridge and some snacks."
Nick - "wow this thing is stocked. You want something?" Summer - "Yeah could you get me a cherry
Pepsi and a kit kat." Nick - "Okay." He gets the food and then sits in the middle pit. Summer starts
the movie and turns off the lights. Summer - "Good?" Nick - "Yeah that's fine." She
sits down next to him and the movie starts. Summer - "Have you seen this before?" Nick - "Bits
and pieces. Not all at once." Summer "It's really good." She takes off her shoes and sinks deeper
into the cushions. She opens her soda takes a sip and puts it in the cup holder. Nick tries to watch the movie but Summer
kept unintentionally making noise. He turns and looks at her. "What? Want a bite?" She offers him her Kit Kat.
Nick - "I never thought anyone could make a chocolate noisy." Summer - "Sorry." She
sat it to the side and went back to watching the movie. When they are singing the rain in Spain song she looked over and
notices Nick mouthing the words. "I thought you had only seen bits and pieces of this movie."" Nick
- "What are you talking about?" Summer - "You know the words to this song." Nick - "No
I don't." Summer - "Yes you do I just saw you singing it." Nick - "No I wasn't."
Summer - "its okay you can admit it." Nick - "I wasn't doing it." She sits
up - "Yes you were." She playfully pushes him in the chest. Nick - "No I wasn't." He pushes
her back. Summer - "Yes you were." She pushed again a little harder. Nick - "No I wasn't."
He pushes her a little harder then he meant to and she fell back and hit her head. "Oh god I'm sorry." Summer
- "That's it buddy we're at war now." She picks up a cushion and hits him with it. At first he doesn't
defend himself he just rolls into a little ball and she beats on his back. But it was just part of his plan. He waited for
her to stand up and then pulled her legs out from underneath. Summer landed on her back and he hit her in the stomach with
a smaller pillow. Every time she went to get up he wrestles her back down. Summer - "Okay I give you win."
He is lying on top of her and they are both a little out of breath. She knows the look in his eyes. "Are you thinking
about kissing me?" Nick - "Yeah." Summer - "Stop thinking." He smiles and kisses
her. She can taste the soda on his lips. He stops suddenly. Nick - "Wait. You have a boyfriend." With
that statement reality came back in. Summer - "Yeah you're right." He sits next to her. "So now
I guess you think I'm a horrible person." Nick - "No I just wish you were single." Summer
- "I do to. I like you a lot Nick." Nick - "I like you too." Summer moves closer to him and
put her arm on the back of the couch. Summer - "Will you kiss me again?" Nick - "I can't
Summer. I can't kiss you and then let you go back to some other guy." Summer - "Why don't you let me worry
about that?" Nick - "okay well if we do this. If we lay here and you know make out, are you still going
to like talk to me after." She can't help but laugh. "Are you asking if I'll respect you in the morning?"
Nick laughs. "Yeah I guess." Summer puts her hand on the back of his neck and up into his hair.
"Come here." She pulls him towards her and they start kissing again. His lips are soft against hers, nothing
major happens, they don't sleep together. Well they do, but they don't have sex. It's just a lot of kissing and talking
about all that stupid stuff that people talk about when they first meet. They didn't even notice that the movie was over.
Summer gets up and turns on the radio and Nick holds her while they fall asleep.
