There's something about those boybands.
Chapter Sixty-one

Perhaps being away was a good thing, the night before Ginger and Danny made up and right in the midst of the going away celebration Logan, Danny's partner, called something went very wrong with some client of theirs.  He didn't come back that night and she waited around the next morning hoping he would show up to say goodbye.  Finally Summer had to physically drag her into the cab or they'd miss their flight.  They got to the gate in plenty of time and as Ginger was pouring over the magazine selection at the news stand, trying to find something that sounded the least bit appealing, she felt arms slip around her waist.  Knowing instantly who it is and she smiles.

Ginger - "you know you shouldn't be doing this, my boyfriend might show up unexpectedly."

Danny chuckles and leans down and kisses her neck, just below her ear.

Danny - "I'll take my chances."

Turning around, she can see he is exhausted from the all nighter.  He is dirty which meant it was probably spent at a construction site.

Ginger - "How is everything?"

Danny - "Too complicated to get into right now, but I think we'll be fine, a stress fracture problem."

Ginger - "Um, well please be careful, a fracture of any kind sounds dangerous."

He half smiles, "did I tell you how much I love you"

Ginger - "everyday, but I won't get tired of hearing it."

Danny kisses her nose.  Summer comes out of the giftshop, she had decided to get Liz a Florida touristy type gift since she hasn't ever been here.  Truth be known she was worried to death she won't like her and seeing is she has attached herself to Josh in a very permanent way, Summer has worried herself into a bundle of nerves.  She sees that Danny did show up after all, yet another sign that he does truly love her sister and is not just in it for the sex.

Summer - "Danny."

Danny sees her and smiles, "hey shortie.  I see at least someone is still on speaking terms with me."

Summer - "Your business is your business unless you hurt Ginger.  Then its war time."

Danny smiles, "sounds fair."

They call the flight.  Summer looks at Ginger, suddenly afraid that perhaps Danny showing up might cause her to bail out on the trip, but she is happy when she says she'll be along in a minute.  Grabbing the carry on, she starts towards the line of passangers already forming.

Danny - "oh, this is from Kaitlynne, I don't know what it is, she made me promise not to open it."

He hands her a brown lunch bag that had a picture crayoned on the outside and was folded and taped and stapled shut.  She stands on her tip toes and gives him a kiss.

Ginger - "Tell her I said thank you."

Danny - "Okay.  See you in 2 weeks."

Ginger - "I'll page you when I get there.  I love you."

Danny - "Love you too."  He winks and walks away.  She goes to meet Summer in line.  Summer notices the bag.

Summer - "Whatcha got?"

Ginger - "Present from Kaitlynne."

Her curiosity is suddenly peaked as to just how active Ginger is in this child's life.  She takes a look at her sister and smiles to herself at the thought of Ginger being a mummy.  Then she takes another look and realize that she'd probably be very good at it.  She wasn't lying to Josh when she told him that their older sister had changed since she started seeing Danny.  As they board the plane Summer is determined to get all the details about Danny and Kaitlynne and this Michelle person.  But all in due time, she can tell Ginger is in no mood at present.

The plane landed in LA, the girls walked into the airport terminal and into Josh's waiting arms.

They both get kisses and hugs, then after the hellos Josh turns and motions towards an short young woman with auburn hair and almost elf-ish freatures.  Her blue eyes sparkled, as she met Josh's sisters.

Josh - "Sum, Ging, meet Lizzie.  Lizzie, these are my girls."

Liz, in a purely southwestern accent, "I am so happy to meet y'all."

Ginger and Summer look at each other and both squeal at the same time and nearly knock poor Liz over with hugs.  Summers worries of disliking the love of Josh's life vanished.

Summer - "Here I got you something."  She hands her the Florida gift.

Liz - "Aw, you didn't have to get me anything."  She looked ready to cry, so did Josh as a matter of fact.

Summer - "Come on open it."

Liz opened the package, it was a snow globe.

Josh - "How very ironic a snowglobe from Florida, where it NEVER snows."

Summer - "That is kinda why I picked it, for its irony."

Ginger - "I don't know about you all but I am hungry."

They all agree and go to claim luggage.  Josh was content in the knowledge that all the women in his life get along.  His one true fear, because he wouldn't know what to do if they didn't.  Liz is happy that she finally got to meet Josh's beloved sisters and they were not half as scary as she thought.

They were halfway to the baggage claim when a group of teenage girls starts screaming, oh my god its the Backstreet Boys!!!!!!!!!

They all turn to look and sure enough see their entourage being hurried though LAX.  Summers heart about leaps out her chest.

Josh and Ginger are giggling at the expression on their little sister's face.  Josh is mimicing the girls' screams.

Summer - "Oh look there's Nick."  Even though she yelled as loud as she could he didn't hear her over all the other girls.  AJ turn around but he didn't see her.  Then just like that they were gone.  Summer turns around with a pout on her face.

Josh - "Cheer up Sum you'll see him later."

Summer - "Yeah you're right."  She smiles when she thinks of telling Nick that Brett and her are finally finished.  "Come on lets try to beat them to the hotel."

Josh had at first had told his sisters they could stay with him.  But they both can guess how little his apartment is and well both of the girls are bathroom hogs so they said that they had no problem staying at a hotel.  It just happened to be the hotel that Nick would be staying at.

Ginger - "Summer, he's not going anywhere.  Come on I'm hungry."

Josh - "Yeah anyway you could atleast pretend that it was me that you came out here to see."  They head down to baggage claim again.

Summer - "Oh Joshy it was.  Well that and to meet Liz."

Liz - "Really.  So far so good I hope."

Both girls "Yes."

Ginger - "But we weren't really that worried.  Josh has always had good taste in his women."

Liz - "Oh really."  She says in a playfully tone.

Summer - "Oh except do you remember that heiress from Monaco."

Josh - "What are you talking about?"

Ginger - "Oh yeah the one with the limp."

Liz - "A limp?"

Josh - "Maria did not have a limp."  His sisters look at him.  "It was a fake leg."  Liz starts to giggle.

Ginger - "Oh it gets better.  Why did you guys break up?"

Josh - "I don't remember."

Summer - "Oh I do!  He threw her leg on the fire in the middle of the night thinking it was a piece of wood."

Liz - "You didn't!"

Josh - "It was dark, anyone could have been mistaken."  Liz is rolling.  "Hey look if all you two are planning on doing is embarrasing me this whole trip you can just get back on the plane now."

Liz - "Oh no, they're staying.  I can see I still have a lot to learn about you."  She tickles his side and he giggles.  That if nothing else endured her to them, they hadn't heard Josh laugh in a long time.

Ginger - "Oh there's one of mine."  Josh gets it.

Josh - "When you say one of yours what do you mean?"

Ginger - "I've got two, Summer's got three."

Josh - "Of course you do."

Summer - "Oh there goes another one."  Josh hurries over and gets the other bag.  "I think I'll go get one of those cart things."

Liz - "Are you sure?  Between the four of us we could probably get them."

Summer - "No that's okay.  I'm a bit of a heavy packer."  She almost said that someone in your condition shouldn't be carrying heavy bags, but Josh hadn't told Ginger yet and Summer didn't want to be the one to do it.
