There's something about those boybands.
Chapter Fourty-Eight

Summer had told her dad that she was going to Ginger's and then left, taking his car. She went and saw a movie and then snuck back in after he went to sleep. She was going to try to catch a couple hours but the suspense of what nick might have to talk to her about was too much. So instead she justed layed there and imagined the worst that could happen. In a way she had been putting off making a decision about him until she saw him again. She wanted to make sure that everything that she had been feeling about Nick was true and not just a quick thing. Finally she couldn't take it anymore and left the house at quarter after two and made her way to the airport. The airport was empty and she was really early so she just sat by herself and waited. Nick's flight got in right on time and she stood waiting for him to come up the gate. She almost didn't recognize him. He had on a baseball hat and these little glasses. He waved and Summer waved back as her stomach started knotting up.

Summer - "Hey."

Nick - "Hey thanks for coming."

Summer - "No problem." Should I hug him? I really want to hug him, she thought.

Nick - "I've got a couple bags I need to get from baggage claim."

Summer - "Okay." They start down that way. "I didn't know you wear glasses?"

Nick - "I don't really. They help me read and stuff but its really just part of my disguise."

Summer - "Oh okay." Neither of them really say anything in the elevator or when they stand down there waiting for his bags. "How many bags do you have?"

Nick - "Two."

Summer - "You travel light."

Nick - "One's clothes the other's my game so." When he said that it made her think of the picture she brought for him. One of her mom's friends over in Paris is a photographer so she took some pictures of Summer while she was visiting this past spring.

Summer - "When I go to visit my mom I have like five bags and a carry on."

Nick - "That's right your mom lives over seas. She's a painter right."

Summer - "yeah. She used to model a long time ago that's how she met my dad but now she just paints."

Nick - "Did they get a divorce?"

Summer - "No actually they are quite happy together. Mom just likes Paris and dad has his job here. He could probably get a job over there too but us kids have all kind of made this our home so he decided to stay here with us."

Nick - "But wasn't it weird growing up without your mom?"

Summer - "It's not like I never saw her. We all lived together until I was like seven or eight then she moved to Paris. They decided not to split us all up so dad stayed here with us. Original it was only going to be until Ginger graduated high school but then I don't know why we just stayed."

Nick - "Well that explains why you don't have much of an accent. There's mine." He gets his bags. And then she leads him to the car. She unlocks it and he throws his bags in the backseat then they get in.

Summer - "So where to?"

Nick - "I don't know."

Summer - "You don't know where you live."

Nick - "No I live outside of Orlando. I came here to see you, my parents don't even expect me home until Sunday. I don't even have a hotel room."

Summer - "Oh well, where are you staying?"

Nick - "Oh I'm going to get one. Why don't we just head to the Marriott."

Summer - "Okay." She starts up the car and they head out of the garage and up to the freeway. The silence is starting to get to her. Summer has never been the most patient person. "Okay this is making me crazy. What's going on?"

Nick - "We're going to get me a room."

Me - "I know that I mean. With us."

Nick - "Why don't you get off and find a place to park so we can talk."

Summer - "Okay." She pulls in to a rest area and parks, then turns to look at him.

Nick looks at her. "God I so suck at this. You'll have to forgive me I'm not to good at all this boy girl stuff, you know relationships and everything. So everything I'm going to say is probably going to come out wrong. Okay?"

Summer - "Okay."

Nick - "I've been doing a lot of thinking. Jesus, I can't believe how much has changed since I met you last week. The guys have noticed it too, I mean I might be 19 but most of the time I act like I'm 12. Hopefully that's something you'll learn to like about me. But like I was saying I've been doing some thinking and it was wrong of me to expect you to dump Brett for me. I'm just used to girls that will do anything I want them to and you threw me off. I mean we only spent one night together and it wasn't even really a date."

Summer - "So what are you saying?"

Nick - "I think we should take some time and get to know each other cause I would really like to try to develop something with you on a kind of serious basis but if it's going to last it needs a solid base that takes time to settle." Kevin gave him that advice if you can't tell.

Summer - "Really? I thought you were getting ready to blow me off."

Nick - "Are you crazy? Why would I blow you off? Have you seen you?"

Summer - "What about Brett?"

Nick - "Well I would still like you to stop seeing him but I guess I understand if you don't. I mean you have been with the guy for like three years. But it's up to you."

Summer - "Well he's out of town for two weeks so we don't have to worry him."

Nick - "I've got you all to myself."

Summer - "Yeap."

Nick - "Good." He leans across and kisses her. "Sorry I've wanted to do that since I got off the plane."

She smiles at him. "Well what took you so long."

Nick - "I don't know I guess I just wanted us to talk first."

Summer - "So are we done talking?"

Nick - "I think so."

Summer - "Good." She undoes her seat belt and crawls over and straddles his lap.

Nick - "What are you doing?" She reaches down and reclines his seat.

Summer - "Getting comfortable." She kisses his cheek, and then something occurs to her and she sits up suddenly. "I'm sorry. I didn't even think that you might not want to do this." She goes to get back in her seat when he sits up suddenly. He puts his hand on the back of her neck and pulls her to him. They start making out in the rest area. Things start to get carried away as Nick puts his hand up the back of her shirt and unhooks her bra. He moves his hand around and starts to massage her breast as he kisses along her collarbone.

Things didn't a chance to go any further because they are interupt by a bright light shining in the window. And then a knocking on the window.

Cop - "Alright kids put your clothes on and step out of the car please."

Both - "Shit." Summer tries to fix her shirt and just take her bra off the rest of the way cause it's easier then trying to put it back on. Nick opens the door and they both get out the passenger side.

Cop - "All right now let's see some ID." Nick gives him his and Summer gets hers out of her purse. He looks at Summer's then at Nick's. "Okay kid, where's your real ID."

Nick - "That is real."

Cop - "You're kidding me. My daughter is a huge fan. Can I get you to sign something for her?"

Nick - "Umm, yeah sure." The cop gets a paper and pen. Summer looks at Nick. He gets shrugs his shoulders.

Cop - "She's going to love this." Nick signs the paper and gives it back to him. "Thanks a lot."

Nick - "You're welcome. Can we have out licenses back?"

Cop - "Oh yeah here ya go. You guys go ahead and get out of here I'll let you go with a warning."

Summer - "Thank you." They get in the car and drive away. "That was weird."

Nick - "That's about the only good thing that comes out of me being recognized."

Summer - "Can you imagine the look on his daughter's face when he explains how he got the autograph. I pulled up to these two kids making out in a car and it was Nick Carter honey."

Nick laughs - "That was a first for me."

Summer - "Getting busted by the cops?"

Nick - "Yeah. Especially for making out in a car. I don't exactly do that a lot."

Summer - "what time is it? Shit I got to get home my dad will wake up and wonder where I'm at."

Nick - "Just tell him you had to pick up a friend."

Summer - "It's not that easy with my dad. I hope you don't mind but you're not going to be meeting him any time soon."

Nick - "That's okay. AJ kinda told me about him and I'm in no rush."

Summer - "Good. I love my family but they can be a bit much at times."

Nick - "I understand. I love my family too but I'm kind of glad when we go on tour."

She pulls up in front of the hotel. "I hope you don't mind I'm just going to drop you here."

Nick - "No that's fine. I'll call you later."

Summer - "okay." He leans across and kisses her. "Bye."

Nick - "Bye." He gets his bags and she waits for him to get inside before heading home.

Summer got home and snuck inside. She had just gotten into bed when her dad stumbles downstairs for his morning coffee. She rolls over and falls asleep glad that Nick came to see her.
