There's something about those boybands.
Chapter Sixty-six

They all went out to dinner that night and then made their way over to a club just down the street from the hotel.  Once inside they divided up between two tables.  It was Howie, AJ, Ginger, Kevin and Loren at one table.  Then Brian, Christine, Nick and Summer at the other.  Christine and Summer sat down while Nick and Brian went to get drinks.

Summer - "I just want a soda."

Brian - "You sure."

Summer - "Yeah I promised my dad I would at least try to be good."

Brian - "Okay we'll be back.  Come on Nick."

Nick - "Okay.  Be right back don't let any guys pick you up."

Summer - "I won't.  They leave and she looks at Christine.  "What?"

Christine - "Nothing.  How old are you again?"  Summer has already told her like three times already.

Summer - "19."

Christine - "That's right.  So has Nick asked you to come to the awards show with him on the ninth?"

Summer - "No.  What awards show?"

Christine - "Mtv's.  I'm supposed to go with Brian but I can't because we start filming my movie the week before."

Summer - "Yeah I think you've mention that."  About 15 times since they met.  "Did you see the bathroom on the way in?"

Christine - "Yeah I think its that way.  Need me to come with you."

Summer - "No I can manage."  She heads to the bathroom and finds Loren inside fixing her hair in the mirror.

Loren - "Hey how you holding up with Christine."  Summer sits on the little chair next to her.

Summer - "Is it just me or does she talk to everyone like they're six."

Loren - "Honestly I couldn't tell you I hardly ever listen to what she's saying."

Summer - "Sounds like a good idea.  So how long have you and Kevin been together?"  Loren sits.

Loren - "Oh let me see.  Almost a year I think.  My niece Jessica introduced us.  You've met Jess right."

Summer - "Just once but Nick talks about her a lot."

Loren - "The two of them are pretty close.  But if you really want to shut Christine up just say something about Jess.  She hates her."

Summer - "why she seems so nice."

Loren - "Well you see Jessica and Brian kind of had this thing going for awhile.  They weren't going out or anything but there was this thing between them that was obvious to everyone, especially Christine.  Then last New Years Christine and Jess got in to a fight.  I mean an actual fist fight with hair pulling and everything.  No one knows what it was about.  But now Jess and Brian aren't talking and she's dating Lance Bass from Nsync."

Summer - "Oh really."

Loren - "Yeap but between you me and our reflections.  I think they still love each other."

Summer - "Oh that's so sad."

Loren - "Yeah.  But to piss her off just ask Nick something about Jessica."

Summer - "I'll keep that in mind."

Loren - "Well I'm going to head back out.  I've got to head home in the morning and I want to spend as much time with Kevin as I can."

Summer - "Alright see ya later."  Summer goes and does her bathroom business and then goes back out.  Nick stands as she gets closer to the table.

Nick - "Hey, thought I lost you for a minute."

Summer - "No, I was just talking to Loren in the bathroom."

Christine - "Oh and what did you guys have to talk about?"

Summer - "Nothing really just girl stuff."

Brian - "Definitely a conversation I don't want to be a part of."

Summer - "Why do you say that?"

Brian - "From experience when girls get together and start talking it usually means a guy's in trouble.  And its usually me."

Summer - "Really and what would you be in trouble with Loren about?"

Brian - "Nothing that I can think of."

Christine - "So any kind of good gossip?"

Summer - "No not really."  Christine is looking at her weird.  Like she knows Summer knows something that she doesn't.  "So when are you guys going to finally start filming this video?"

Nick - "Should be tomorrow."

Summer - "How come you didn't get your friend Jessica to direct the video didn't you say she does that sometimes."  Everyone looks at her and doesn't say a word.

Christine - "I didn't know that you knew Jessica."

Summer - "I don't really I've only met her once but I've seen her videos."

Christine - "Well then you should know that if she had any kind of real talent they might have asked her."

Summer - "I actually like her videos."

Brian - "Jessica has a lot of talent Christine."

Christine - "If you say so.  Look I don't want to fight about her again okay.  She's psycho and the further away she is the better."  Nick mumbles something under his breath.  "What was that?"

Nick - "Nothing."  She kind of half glares at him.  "Look you might not like her but she's one of my best friends and I'd appreciate it if you didn't sit her and talk shit about her.  Especially since she's not here to defend herself."

Christine - "Oh and we know how she defends herself don't we.  Okay fine I'll drop it.  Baby I want to dance."

Brian - "Okay."  They leave the table.

Nick - "Have you gone nuts?"

Summer - "I'm sorry.  Loren said that if I wanted to piss off Christine just bring up Jesss name.  I had no idea."

Nick - "Well Brian's in for a rough night now."

Summer - "I didn't mean to cause a fight.  I just wanted to see her lose her cool for a minute."

Nick - "Well you succeeded in doing that. What about you?  Do you want to dance?"

Summer - "Not right now I'm too happy to have a couple minutes alone with you.  We've been here like a week and I feel like we haven't spent anytime together."

Nick - "I know.  I've had you come all the way out here and then been stuck in meetings and fittings for the video and stuff.  I'm sorry."

Summer - "I'll forgive you if you'll take me home tonight."

Nick - "What do you mean take you home, our hotel's right around the corner of course I'll take you home."

She reaches over and plays with a button on his shirt.  "I mean take me back to your room."

Nick - "You sure."

Summer - "Yeah, very sure."

Nick - "Want to go now?"

Summer - "Yeah, but we should wait until my sister either gets too drunk to notice or she leaves on her own."
