Brian came out of the delivery room to the small crowd waiting on him.  “We have two boys.”

Goldie – “Twins?”

Brian is smiling.  “Yes twins.  Both are healthy and Jess is doing fine.  The doctor said that she is going to be sent back to her room but she will need to rest and the boys are going to NICU but you can see them through the glass if you would like.”  He goes back in the room to take off his scrubs. 

Then everyone gets down to the nursery the see the boys.  Brian walks in through another door and walks over to the bassinets.  He then sees Loren through the window.  The anger that he felt towards me is completely directed at her.  He comes out, and goes over to Kevin. They walk to a corner and talk.

Stephen - “I’m sorry I got you in trouble.”

Loren - “I did this to myself. So don’t worry about it.”

Stephen - “I still didn’t have to rat you out like that.”

Loren - “its all cool nephew. We’ll work things out.”

Meanwhile Brian takes his phone back from Kevin.  “How many times has she called?”

Kevin – “I lost count.  How are you holding up?”

Brian – “I have no idea how I am still standing.”

Kevin – “Need a drink?”

Brian – “Yes but I need to keep a clear head. And figure out what the hell is going on.”

Kevin – “I know someone who might know.”  He looks over his shoulder at Loren looking at the babies.  “But I don’t think she would tell us.”

Brian – “So you really didn’t know.”

Kevin – “Of course not.”

Brian – “I’m sorry man.  I had a thought that you might have known and just not told me.”

Kevin – “Why would you think that?”

Brian – “I don’t know.  This is just so crazy.  I’ve got to figure out a way to tell my parents and Christine is going to flip out.”

Kevin – “Speaking of.”  Brian’s phone rings and he hands it to him.

Brian – “Hello… Yeah I’m sorry I was doing something…  Chris we need to talk and I don’t want to do it over the phone…  Kind of…  No meet me at the hotel…  I’ll be there in ten minutes…  Okay bye.”

Kevin – “Do you have any idea what you are doing?”

Brian – “None.”  They leave and go back to the hotel.

Christine was waiting in the lobby when they got there.  Along with the rest of the boys who she had been grilling and no one was telling her anything.  “Hey Howie can we borrow your room for a few minutes.”

Nick – “Is everything okay?” 

Brian – “Yeah, everything is fine.  Kevin…”

Kevin – “I’ll take care of it.”  Brian and Chrsitine head to the elevator.  “Let’s go somewhere quiet.”

They move over to a more quite corner of the lobby. 

AJ – “Did Jess really have Brian’s baby?”

Kevin – “Babies.  She had twin boys.”

Nick – “WHAT?”  They all shh him.  “I thought Howie was fucking with us.”

AJ – “She didn’t tell anyone?”

Kevin – “She told her family even Loren knew.”

Howie – “But you didn’t?”

Kevin – “No I didn’t.  Jessica probably made her promise not to tell me.”

Howie – “Is everyone ok?”

Kevin – “Yes Jess and the babies are fine.  Brian on the other hand…”

AJ – “Is totally freaked out.  What is he going to do?”

Kevin – “I don’t know he is telling Chris now.  But he is really going to need us guys so I don’t want anyone to say anything to him until he is ready to talk.  Nick you can’t go see Jess yet.  You have to wait until he has figured everything out.”

Nick – “Can I send Summer?”

AJ – “Yeah we’ll send Summer.”

Kevin – “When did she get here?”

AJ – “During the 2 hours you and Brian were MIA.  She got stuck with Christine who was calling Brian every ten minutes.  When he finally answered she said she had a headache and went up to Nick’s room.”

Nick – “Which is right next to Howie’s”

Christine is quiet the whole way up to Howie’s room.  However once inside, “Ok Brian you need to tell me what is going on.  Because I know something is wrong.  You and Kevin were missing for two hours.”

Brian – “You might want to sit down I know I do.”  She sits on the couch and he sits in the chair across from her.  “This is not going to be easy and I will completely understand anything you decide to do.”

Chris – “Brian you’re scaring me.”

He looks her in the eyes and then gets up and starts to pace unable to sit still and face her.  “For a little bit last year I was not faithful to you.”

Chris – “What?”

Brian – “I was seeing someone else.”

Chris – “Who?”

Brian knew that this was the first hard part.  “Jessica.”

Christine just sits there with a blank look on her face.  “How long?”

“For a few months.”

“A few months…”  She starts to cry.  “Why?  Wait I don’t want to know why.  How could you Brian?  When have I ever not given you enough of me.”  She reaches for the tissues.  “Why are you telling me this now?  Why just days before our wedding?”

Now came the second hard part.    Brian takes a deep breath.  “Kevin and I just got back from the hospital.”

Christine stops crying and just looks at him.  “What happened?”

“Jessica was having a baby.  I swear Chris I didn’t know.  I’m sorry”

“YOU’RE SORRY!  BRIAN YOU MEAN TO SIT THERE AND TELL ME THAT NOT ONLY DID YOU HAVE AN AFFAIR WITH SOME PHSYCOTIC WOMAN.  AND NOT ONLY HIDE IT FROM ME BUT THEN TELL ME THAT SHE HAS HAD YOUR BABY!”  Brian just sat there and let her scream.  “How could you Brian?” she repeated.

“I know it’s not easy to hear but it just happened.  And I felt awful about it the whole time.”

“You obviously didn’t feel too awful.  You were able to make a baby with her.”

“Actually she had twin boys.”  He couldn’t help but to smile.

“Well that’s just great Brian.  I’m glad you and your slut are happy.”  She goes to leave.

Brian stops her.  “Christine wait.”

“Wait for what.  For you to tell me it’s over I can see that. You want to be with her and not me.”

“No it’s not.  I choose you before and I’m choosing you again.  If you’ll still have me.”

She hugs him.  “Of course I will still have you.”  She kisses him.  “So the church called to confirm our rehearsel appointment….”

“Um Chris.  I think that maybe we should push the wedding back a few weeks.”

“Why?”

“I just found out I am a father Chris.  I need to get my head around this I can’t even think straight.”

“No don’t get mad but I have to ask.  Are you sure they are yours?”

“I am positive they are mine.”

Next door everyone except Kevin, had theirs ears pressed to the door listening.  Kevin told them all how juvenile it was to go and listen at the door and then took off for somewhere.  Everyone else went up to Howie’s room to eavesdrop. 

They were as quite as they could be but when Christine called me a slut Nick was almost ready to go through the door.  Now that the bulk of the conversation was over or at least the juicy part, Summer went back to sit on the bed. 

AJ knew his best friend, and knew the wheels in her head were turning.  “What’s up Lily?”

Summer – “Is it just me or did she switch gears a little too fast.  I mean she went from yelling at Brian and crying about how can you do this to me to let’s go get married.”

Howie – “You think what I’m thinking?”

She nods, “she knew.  Maybe not about the baby thing but she knew Brian was seeing Jess.”

Nick – “Why do you think that?”

Summer – “Nick when you cheated on me I was furious and ready to tear your head off.  Most women would feel that way.  She let him off way too easy.”

AJ – “I see what you are saying.”

The all sit in silence for a few minutes. 

Summer – “Has anyone been to see Jessica?”

AJ – “No Kevin doesn’t think it would be a good idea if we went to see her just yet.  We need to wait and see what Brian is going to do next.”

Summer – “But I can go right.”

Howie – “That’s what we were planning.”

Summer gets her shoes and and grabs her purse.  “Where am I going?”

Howie – “Cedars the cab driver will know where it is.  Give Jessica our love and tell her we will be to see her soon.”

Summer – “I will, Nick walk me down.”  Nick gets up and follows her.  “You okay?”

Nick – “Yeah.  Look Sum, I’m sorry.”

Summer – “For what?”

Nick – “Being stupid.  What you said upstairs about when I cheated on you and how mad you were.  I’m still not sure why you forgive me but I’m glad you did and I will never do anything like that again.”

Summer – “I know Nick.  And I’m not going to tell you that it’s easy to be with you now because it’s not.  I still have a fear that you are going to cheat on me again but I love you and I want to be with you.  But I swear if you do it again I am not going to be able to forgive again.”

Nick – “I know.”

Summer – “I bet your thankful you didn’t get her pregnant.”

Nick – “You’re telling me.”  He kisses Summer at the curb while she gets in the cab.
