There's something about those boybands.
Chapter Thirty-Five

They went to the hotel and met up with Joey and Chris in the lobby. When Joey saw Jess he let out a low wolf whistle.

Joey - "you can't possible be the same girl that works at MTV."

Jess - "That's me."

Chris - "excuse him some times he has no class. You both ready." Jess and Lance nod. "Okay."

They all go out and get in the limo. Joey won't stop staring at Jess.

Lance - "Joey will you please stop staring at my date."

Joey - "Sorry. Remind me to get Britney to set me up with one of her other friends. That is unless you have a sister."

Jess - "Nope just a twin brother."

Joey - "That's a shame. Your mother should have shared her good genes with others." She decides it would be best to change the subject.

Jess - "So anyway. I heard it's kind of hard to get in this club. How are we getting in? Especially, no offense, since Lance is under age."

Joey - "Don't worry if he can't get in I'll make sure you have a good time."

Chris - "Jesus Joey could you not hit on her with Lance sitting right there."

Joey - "I'm kidding. Lance you know I'm kidding."

Lance - "Yeah but the joke has gone far enough."

Joey - "Okay I'm sorry. Sorry Jess I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable."

Jess - "You didn't."

Chris - "But to answer your question. I called ahead and told them we were coming. They won't even card him."

Jess - "Sounds familiar. I used to get in clubs with my one boyfriend that way when I wasn't legal."

Lance - "Oh so you do have a wild side."

Jess - "A little one."

Chris - "Hang out with us too long and it won't be so little."

The limo pulls up to the front of the line and they go right inside. And like Chris said no one was asked for ID. The club had set aside a little VIP section for them. Chris Lance and Jess got settled at the table while Joey went looking for girls.

Jess - "Doesn't waste time does he?"

Chris - "Joey. Nope, when he's out, he's gone to another place entirely. He becomes a single woman's best and worst dream."

Jess - "Complete one-nighter huh."

Chris - "Yeah."

Lance - "So you want to dance?"

Jess - "Yeah."

Chris - "Okay yeah, that's fine go I'll sit here with the purses like usual."

Lance - "Good could you get us a couple drinks while you're at it? I'll take a screwdriver.

Jess - "Oh, I'll take a fuzzy navel."

Chris - "Aren't they like the same drinks?"

Jess - "No mine has peach schnapps in it."

Chris - "Oh and that just makes all the difference."

Jess - "It does."

They go out and start dancing. Jess notices Joey dancing with a good sized group of girls around him and just shakes her head. It's been a long time since she was out dancing so she's a little busy trying not to make an ass out of herself. She steps on Lance's foot not once but three times.

Jess - "Sorry it's been awhile."

Lance - "That's okay I only use the bottom."

Jess - "You're a good dancer."

Lance - "Thanks. I didn't really know how until I met up with the guys. You're not too bad yourself."

Jess - "Yeah right."

Lance - "hey Chris is waving our drinks must be there."

They get back to the table and see that Chris has acquired a girl for himself.

Chris - "hey guys this is Gerry. Gerry this is Lance and Jess."

Jess - "Hi." She reaches over to shake her hand and almost spill Chris drink in his lap. "Oops sorry Chris."

Lance - "Here Jess." He hands her a drink.

Jess - "thanks." She drinks half of it in one gulp.

Chris - "Thirsty?"

Jess - "Yeap." She grabs and pretzel rod out of the bowl on the table. Lance is drinking his drink a little more slowly.

Lance - "You might want to pace yourself."

Jess - "Nah I'm having too much fun."

Jess gets more then a little tipsy. Lance has maybe one drink to her three. But neither of them gets as wasted as Chris. Who decides he's going to do a flaming shot.

Lance - "Chris I don't think that's a good idea."

Chris - "It's real simple. You put the shot here." He is talking and doing at the same time. "Then you fill it, and pour a line of to the other side of the table." Well the line he was trying to pour kind of went all over the table. "Then you take a match and light it."

Jess - "No wait Chris!" He drops the match and the whole table goes up in flames. Lance grabs Jess by the arm and pulls her away. A waiter comes rushing over with a fire extinguisher and puts it out.

Chris didn't get his drink but he did manage to singe a few braids.

Chris - "Sorry that wasn't suppose to happen."

Jess - "Okay I think I'm ready to go home now."

Lance - "You sure."

Chris - "I'm sorry Jess. Don't go home because of me."

Jess - "I'm not I've got this thing I have to do with my cousin tomorrow and I'm already starting to get a hell of a hang over."

Lance - "Well come on we'll take a cab. I'll see you guys back at the hotel."

Joey comes back to the table. "What the hell happened here?"

Chris explains as Jess and Lance leave.

Back at Jess's apartment

Lance walks her to the door.

Lance - "I guess I'll give you a call the next time I'm in town."

Jess - "You're not coming in."

Lance - "Well we've got to leave in the morning so I should get to bed."

Jess - "But my bed's closer."

Lance - "As much as I would love to. I think you might have had a little too much to drink."

Jess - "Well what if I told you that Chris's pyrotechnics sobered me up."

Lance - "Then that might be a different story all together."

Jess - "Good." She pulls him in to her apartment. Kissing him as she takes off his shirt.

Lance - "Shouldn't you at least shut the door?" She closes and locks the door then leads him to the bedroom.
